Our Story

From humble beginnings in 2017. Our founder Kevin McAlister left his job as a Chartered Accountant, retrained as a health and wellbeing coach and started Lift Your Wellbeing by running fitness classes and healthy lifestyle education sessions on construction sites and in workplaces all across London.

From the very start we wanted to be different by offering something people could tap into every single week, not once a year like most wellbeing initiatives at the time. Because after all, wellbeing is a constant process, we must proactively support our self care needs each and every day.

Our team soon grew and so too did our offerings. We loved running wellbeing workshops and yoga classes quickly became a popular weekly offering.

We won an award for our Impact On Organisational Performance and our Founder Kevin McAlister was speaking at a number of Mental Health and Workplace Wellbeing conferences around the U.K.

And then along came this virus that you may or may not have heard of.

Global lockdowns forced us to quickly adapt to the digital world and it was the best thing that could have happened to us.

Previous barriers that may have existed, whether it be physical location issues or reluctance to get active around workmates, completely disappeared and we noticed that our work now supported a much more diverse group of people. This made us happy because we have always said, we are not just here to make the fit people fitter.

Whilst we are a small team of health and wellbeing professionals, we are trusted to support the employee wellbeing of some very well known global brands. But we are not just about the big end of town. Our digital solutions now mean we can support almost every business no matter its size or location.

Fast forward to now ( post covid?) and we are still very much digital, a hint of hybrid and a big dose of global.

Our founder Kev is now a certified Workplace Wellbeing Strategist and member of the Global Wellness Institutes (GWI) Workplace Wellbeing Initiative. He understands and teaches the foundations, leadership and ongoing support that is needed for an employee wellbeing program to be effective.

We have learned that just putting on an exercise or yoga class without doing the foundations work is most likely going to lead to an under utilised offering. It’s essential to first educate and train leaders on mental health literacy and the role they play in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of others.

From here our all staff wellbeing platform will be something that people utilise every single day to support their mental health, energy levels and happiness ( oh yeah, did we mention our clients now get access to daily live stream classes, pretty cool hey, it beats the bowl of fruit in the tea room approach to wellbeing).
